Send a legal inquiry here if you want a view on a UAE legal question before deciding whether to act. Inquiries are answered by our team, and where the question needs a licensed advocate we route it to one. This page explains what we can and cannot do at the inquiry stage.
Questions We Answer at This Stage
- Whether a debt is still recoverable given how long ago it fell due.
- Which court or forum would have jurisdiction over your contract.
- What a dishonoured cheque now allows you to do in the UAE.
- Whether a foreign judgment or arbitral award can be enforced here.
- What documents you would need before a claim could be filed.
- Whether mediation, arbitration or litigation is the sensible route.
The Limits of an Inquiry
An inquiry is general guidance, not legal advice on your specific facts, and it does not create an advocate–client relationship. We cannot give a reliable opinion on a contract we have not read, and we will not guess at limitation periods or prospects without documents. Where the answer depends on the current text of a statute, we tell you that and point you to the official source rather than paraphrasing from memory.
If your question needs a formal opinion, court representation or a filing, we will say so and quote for it in writing.
Helpful to Include
- A short factual summary in date order.
- The contract or the clause you are asking about.
- The amount at stake and the currency.
- Where the other party and its assets are located.
- Any deadline, hearing date or notice you have received.
Inquiry Questions
Is an inquiry confidential?
We treat it in confidence as a matter of policy, but privilege attaches only once an advocate is formally engaged. Please do not send privileged material before we confirm we can act.
Do you charge for an inquiry?
A first general response is free. A written opinion on specific facts is chargeable and quoted before we start.
